This has been quite possibly the longest week of my life! Last week, after internet, we had to work normally. We changed our PDay so that we could go to the temple on Friday. It was awesome, but I can now testify of the importance of a day of rest. We were some of the tiredest, grumpiest missionaries I've ever met. Hopefully after we take some nice PDay naps today we'll be all better.
We almost forgot that Thursday was PDay. We drew some little turkeys on our agendas during weekly planning to celebrate. And that was about it.
Yeah, this week we went to the temple! It was awesome. The grounds were full of members that have traveled from all parts of Perú. It's really amazing to see how engaged in the work these people are. We actually saw one of our old CCM teachers, Hermano Meza, in the cafeteria afterwards. It was really cool!
On Saturday, we had permission to go with some of the members out to Chili's! (Yeah, I didn't know that they had Chili's in Perú either). Their family is legit, because the dad is an English teacher and speaks perfect English, and his kids do too! It was super fun to have what almost felt like an afternoon back in the states with the Delgado family.
Sunday was such an adventure getting everyone to church. It was a miracle, though, because there were actually people at church! My favorite was taking Melissa. She is a mom of 4 kids under the age of 5 (ages 5, 3, and twins of 19 months). She has a lot of faith, and loves to learn. She was more than willing to dress all of her kids up for church and walk all the way to the chapel. We got a few funny looks walking four little kids down the street for almost a mile, but it was really awesome. There are NO excuses for not going to church! She said she almost went up and bore her testimony during fast and testimony meeting too, but we ran out of time. The only thing that stinks is that we have to convince her boyfriend to marry her before she can get baptized.
I hope you're all enjoying this holiday season! It's getting hot here. Sometimes I walk down the street singing, "Where are you Christmas?" like little Cindy Loo Hoo.
I love you all. See you next week!
(Oh, and pray that President doesn't take my companion away from me today. We have transfers! Ah!)
[NOTE: A few hours later the Delgado Family posted a picture that Hermana Santos was transferred.]
