Llamas & Llamanites

"When the Savior stretches out His hands, those He touches are uplifted and become greater, stronger, and better people as a result.
If we are His hands, should we not do the same?" ~Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Asumachu. What a week we have had! I'm pleased to say that I have more pictures for you all and more adventures.

First of all, this week I finally met one of my goals I have had since receiving my call letter. I got a picture with a llama! Finally!! Her name is Blanquita. :) A few members in our ward know that we've been dying to meet a llama, and so while they were in the mercado they saw one and immediately called us. We obviously came running to find her. In the end we got our silly pictures with traditional Cusco garb and the llama. Don't worry, I didn't actually squish it, even though it appears that way in the photo. Totally worth the 5 soles they charged us.

Also, I ate another weird thing this week! This cool family that the elders have been teaching invited us over for dinner. Well, the hermano raises roosters for cock fighting. That's not illegal here in Peru. He actually has about 400 roosters. It's insane! We got to meet them, and all the noise stresses me out. He let us hold a calm one to take pictures as well. And then, we ate 3 of them. And do you know what rooster tastes like? It tastes like pot roast! It was actually rather delicious, and I wouldn't complain eating it again.

We got to help the elders out this week with their baptism of this super amazing family. And even though we haven't been the missionaries teaching them, we've really enjoyed seeing them progress because they've been attending our ward. We got to sing He Sent His Son, and I gave a talk on the Holy Ghost. It's so cool to see an entire family get baptized. It gives you so much more faith that they are going to make it to the temple and be sealed for time and all eternity. We are so happy for them. I have no doubt that we will come across our own Golden Family to teach in our own area very soon.

Today we await the transfer announcements. We know that we will be receiving to elders to help in the ward, but we have no clue what will be happening with us! It's always nervewracking. Here's to an even better week, and an even better transfer. The time is passing way too fast.
