Happy sunshiny morning to you all! How are you all doing? We're here doing pretty alright. Well, good. We're good. We're already coming to the close to another transfer in the following week. Don't know how in the world that happened.
Last week we had a fun time celebrating the 28th of July with a super sweet family that cooked us up an entire pig. They're getting baptized this Saturday in our neighboring ward, and we love them. They are definitely a golden family!
Um, I feel like we haven't had that many super interesting experiences this week. But I did enjoy an experience I had in a work visit with our sister leaders. I got to go out to the other area of the sisters to make visits. Purely by accident, we made a wrong turn in a moto and we stopped at the house of an inactive family. I guess they're almost never home. But for some reason they were there. We walked in and started to get the know the sister, and she explained that they haven't been going to church for some family trials they have been having. We didn't ask about the problems, but we were able to testify strongly of the fact that the gospel blesses families. It was weird, because this is usually a principle that we kind of rush over to get to the Restoration. But we were crying and she was crying and her husband was crying as we talked about the importance and the power of putting into practice the teachings we learn through the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. We need to love each other, forgive each other, serve each other, and help each other be obedient to the commandments. Our homes can be a refuge from the crazy passings of the world if we do so. I didn't know this woman, and I doubt that I will ever see her again. But I sincerely felt love and concern for her. It's really refreshing after getting into the "rut" of missionary work for a while.
We're still having fun with the really confused weather, and enjoying a lot of rice and herbal teas.
Love you all,
Hermanita Schroader
