It's been really eye opening having a new little companion. Apparently I know a whole heck of a lot more than I thought I did about this whole mission thing. I'm able to translate a ton too, which makes me feel a lot better about my Spanish. Obviously I still have a ton to learn, but it feels good to see progress.
I've been having to step up a lot responsibility wise now, so I've been going on lots of splits. I'm always the one that has to split off and teach with the members at this point since Hermana Nelson is so new. It's been good for me though. Right now my favorite lessons to teach alone are with less actives. The Spirit is always so strong as you hear about the principles and testimonies that they almost forgot they had.
This week we met 2 awesome families with lots of kids that are barely old enough to be baptized. I'm pretty sure all 7 of them will be baptized this upcoming month. I absolutely adore these kids. They all came with us to church this week and are very excited to learn more. Oh, and if any of you have any ideas for FHE games from the states they love those too. Right now their favorite is Down By The Banks.
This week we had a really really cool stake conference. It was actually broadcasted from Salt Lake for all 100 stakes in Peru. We heard from Elder Bednar AND Elder Scott. It was in Spanish, so I only got about 50-60 percent of what they were saying, but it was an awesome introduction to the church and priesthood leaders for all of our investigators.
Life just keeps going on around here. It's still hard, the dynamics are different, and I still get a little homesick. But I feel like every week I feel a little more excited to be here in this work.
Loves and kisses!
